A quietly elegant creation, crafted for a celebration of timeless love at the historic Tortworth Court.
The Vision
When Leanne and Roman reached out to Mooies in early spring, their brief carried something beautifully personal.
Roman, who is of Asian heritage, adored pandan chiffon cake — a flavour that reminded him of home. Leanne wanted to surprise him by incorporating that memory into their wedding, creating a cake that was both meaningful and refined.
They envisioned a two-tier pandan chiffon cake that felt light, contemporary, and deeply sentimental — a reflection of their story, expressed through quiet luxury and craftsmanship.
Set within the glass atrium and botanical beauty of De Vere Tortworth Court, the design needed to complement the grandeur of the space while maintaining a sense of purity and calm.
The Cake
The final creation was a two-tier couture pandan chiffon cake layered with white-chocolate ganache and coconut buttercream — a gentle balance of tropical sweetness and airy texture.
Each tier was finished in a pure white, satin-smooth exterior, echoing the couple’s vision for understated elegance. The design was deliberately restrained, allowing the flavours and proportions to speak for themselves. The bright and vibrant florals of the day — in shades of red, pink, and orange — framed the cake beautifully, adding a joyful contrast against its minimalist finish.
Delivered and set up by our concierge team on Saturday 23 August 2025, the cake was presented for the couple’s 3:45 p.m. wedding breakfast in the grand hall at Tortworth Court — a quietly breathtaking centrepiece that held both memory and modernity in perfect balance.
The Process
From their first enquiry to the final handover, every message exchanged with Leanne and Roman reflected warmth, thoughtfulness, and intention.
Together, we refined the flavour, design, and logistics — ensuring the cake could remain pristine throughout the afternoon while maintaining its delicate chiffon structure. It was a process grounded in calm communication and shared excitement.
