A modern statement in white and red — our couture take on the classic White Forest cake, crafted for an intimate celebration at London’s iconic Chiltern Firehouse.
The Vision
When Margarita reached out to Mooies to commission a cake for her best friend’s wedding, she came with a single image: an elegant bride in satin, cutting into a retro-inspired cherry cake. The goal was to reinterpret that reference through the lens of quiet luxury — keeping its charm and nostalgia, but elevating it with couture-level finish.
The wedding was to be held at the Chiltern Firehouse in London, a venue known for its refined, playful atmosphere — the perfect setting for something classic yet daring. The brief: a two-tier White Forest cake finished in smooth vanilla buttercream with kitsch cherries on top, playful but polished.
The Cake
We designed a two-tier White Forest cake, combining the freshness of vanilla sponge and light cherry cream filling with our signature Swiss meringue buttercream — finished in a satin-smooth, sculptural silhouette.
Each tier was reinforced with bespoke internal supports to maintain balance while stacked, ensuring the structure remained elegant and flawless during display.
Playful red maraschino cherries were placed with couture precision across the top, a nod to vintage charm while maintaining a modern, editorial feel. The final result: romantic, minimal, and quietly nostalgic — a perfect match for the Firehouse’s intimate setting.
The Process
From the first chat in Tidio to the final invoice through WooCommerce, every step was handled through our concierge service — ensuring calm, clear communication.
Together, we discussed sizing, structure, and delivery logistics, ultimately confirming a delivery window of 18:30 on Sunday, 15th September 2024, directly to the venue. The final design was agreed upon as pure white with no chocolate shavings — keeping the look crisp and couture.
