What is the difference between a white forest cake and a black forest cake?

A Black Forest cake is traditionally made with chocolate sponge. A white forest cake swaps it for vanilla sponge, so it is lighter and the cherries and cream stand out, with just a touch of dark chocolate on the outside.

What does it taste like?

Soft vanilla, sweet-tart cherry and light whipped cream, with a subtle chocolate note from the shavings. It is light rather than rich.

Does it contain alcohol?

Not as standard. Our White Forest Cake is made without alcohol. If you'd like a more traditional Black Forest flavour, you can ask for Kirsch cherries instead. Message our concierge when you order and we will arrange it.

Are the cherries fresh?

We finish the cake with fresh cherries and fill it with our in-house cherry preserve.
